A Review of Electroacupuncture on Patients with Insomnia in Chinese Medicine

Abstract
Objectives : The study was designed to evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on patients with insomnia in China.

Methods : We performed systematic review of case-control studies of electroacupuncture on patients with insomnia published from 1994 to 2009 in CNKI(ñéÏÐò±ãÛÐñõ¨ã¿àâÍïïï http://www.cnki.net).

Results : 17 studies were selected. The electroacupuncture points frequently used were Sinmun(ãêÚ¦), Sameumgy(ß²ëäÎß), Baekhoe(ÛÝüå), Sasinchong(ÞÌãêõÆ), etc. G6805 electroacupuncture instrument were mostly used in those studies and the treating methods of electroacupuncture were various according to each study. Combination of both Electroacupuncture and other therapy reported better results than simple therapy such as simple electroacupuncture or acupuncture, western medicine, herbal medicine, auricular therapy.

Conclusions : There have been many studies of electroacupuncture on patients with insomnia in China and these studies can applied to the clinical practices in Korea.
